Medical Information Sources
The vertical search engines introduced in the following are specialized in medical research.
Mednar is a specialized deep web search engine (a search engine, too, indexing sources beyond the web). Further indexed sources are blogs and wikis. The service searches the sources in realtime, which makes it usable to search for up to date information. Personalization features available to registered members enable to receive up to date information about particular topics.
SearchMedica is specialized in clinical information. Too, SearchMedica uses a deep web technology and lists information of various relevant sources. The search results may include excerpts of premium content, which becomes accessible by payment.
Similar services are available at the directory by Healthcare, Medical.

Mednar searches 60 medical databases. To see all that it searches, go to http://www.mednar.com and select “advanced search”. Once into advanced search, the user may turn on or off the databases to be searched. Mednar does not crawl and index these databases, it maps your search terms from the Mednar search box to the native search interface of each individual database. This assures you have access to the most current information available. The tutorial on Mednar’s home page will assist you in finding your specific requests in as little time as possible.
